Day to Reset

We are human.  Change can be stressful no matter how cool, calm and collected we usually are.  Demanding circumstances can result in adverse mental, emotional or physical symptoms. We can become tired, short tempered or have flare ups of health conditions that had been dormant.  We must pay attention to our changing selves. Yes, ourselves.   It seems less challenging to observe and monitor the behavior of others.

During a time of change, we have to take notice and listen to our mind, soul and body.  It may be necessary to break from our routine and make time to address any adverse mental, emotional or physical symptoms.  We may need a mental health day to reset.  Sleep in. Take a nap. Strategize on ways to reduce stress. Be early to prepare for the day’s work and order priorities. Take a real lunch break instead of working through it.  At the end of the day, be grateful for what we’ve accomplished even though there is more work to be done.  Work an exercise of our choice such as walking, cycling, yoga or dancing. Watch some good news.  Watch a show or movie with a happy ending.

We must design a moment to restore balance and peace within ourselves.
